About Genece

Genece, Contemporary Artist & Poet

Brush the Heart

color me in thoughts
and sensuous sensations
that explode the soul

in color struck beauty
surrounded by impressions
that brush the heart

from a painter’s eye
wets the canvas with water
floating between trees

in blue savored shades
and the wanton scents of night
sometimes drained by wind

wavy parallel lines
aroused by the painter’s touch
of a lucid dream

in pale golden light
of tinted aspirations
and a trace of bliss

  1. Just lovely, Genece, your poem has that touch of magic found so often at Soul Food. The imagery is a wonderful welcome to your garden. I think I’ll stay awhile amid the stillness and beauty.

  2. Ah technology! It has opened so many doors and introduced me to so many fascinating people.

  3. Lovely, Gen, just lovely.

And, yes, technology has opened new worlds for all of us. Those resisting the digital age are missing out on so much.

  4. I agree…..simply beautiful….

  8. You have a beautiful, peaceful site, truly a sanctuary of stillness. If you would like to enter a stillness poem in my newly announced poetry contest, please feel deeply invited to do so (no cost to enter). If I have enough good entries, I’d like to publish a book of meditation/mindfulness poetry (with authors’ permission). More information on my site at http://www.spiritfirst.org. Thank you for who you are and what you do…
