Wabi Sabi

Wabi Sabi

Pared down to its barest essence, wabi-sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection and profundity in nature, of accepting the natural cycle of growth, decay, and death. It’s simple, slow, and uncluttered-and it reveres authenticity above all.

Wabi Sabi

transcendental truths
lost in the passage of time
return to wabi

that is…
colors that cannot be named
while falling backwards

again to sabi
provoked by a landscape
of unbalanced shapes

that are…
transient beauty
a sense of peace, wonderment
and incompleteness

is unpretentious
philosophical construct
made from nature’s bliss
