About Genece

In the past few years, life moves in and out of deep stillness–such a natural place to rest, to be inspired, to connect and listen to all within that shapes and shifts my world.

Becoming a contemporary artist is a new adventure for me, though I’ve been involved with graphic and commercial arts for almost 30 years. When I was a kid, I loved the Etch-A-Sketch toy. I’d sit for hours drawing and found I had a talent for it. Years later when the Mac and PC came along, it reconnected me back the old Etch-A-Sketch. Only now the world broadened thanks to technololgy. Today, I’m thankful for the ongoing technical developments that make digital painting easier to reproduce onto canvas which allows for the art to show and sell.

 Writing has always been a part of my life. This poems sums it up for me:

Brush the Heart

color me in thoughts
and sensuous sensations
that explode the soul

in color struck beauty
surrounded by impressions
that brush the heart

from a painter’s eye
wets the canvas with water
floating between trees

in blue savored shades
and the wanton scents of night
sometimes drained by wind

wavy parallel lines
aroused by the painter’s touch
of a lucid dream

in pale golden light
of tinted aspirations
and a trace of bliss
