Facing the Dream

quietly i faced the dream
that tortured me for years
and found that it wasn’t
a frightening monster
or deadly foe
turns out it was always
a true blue friend
offering me prosperity
and the peace that comes
with living in harmony
of its yearnings
 
monsters that kept me trapped
at the gate of success
are now wandering away
they’ve let go of the opening
one less soul they feed [...]
