Two Pods and a Pea

two pods and a pea
while the others went missing
swallowed one by one
Years ago, a well-known author/speaker who is a close friend used to tell everyone that we were “two pods and a pea”. Everyone would laugh and ask us, “What happened to the other peas?” Or, “What does that mean “two pods and a pea?”
Of course, two peas meant that we were odd together — he was bald with a heavy foreign accent and a perfectly fit body (Mr Natural Universe twice). I was rolly polly round with soft hair and face. One pea meant we were the same — our laugh, our spirit, our inner joy and great sense of play.
As for the other peas, read the haiku for that one ![]()

Lovely, lovely green peas. I like the story about your friend - the description of two pods and a pea is marvelous.
Oh, I love it. A different take on that old saying.
Love it, love it, love it.

What a wonderful story Genece and I am very taken with the painting.
Lovely, the story, your friendship, the painting and the haiku. I can see I am going to be a regular visitor here - this really made me smile.
