small cracks in her skin
parts readily from the branch
she bends at the neck
with large, open eyes
she requires full sun all day
to preserve her fruit
she prays for ripeness
spreads wider than she is tall
yields to soft pressure
Study her stem and you’ll see the shape of hands as if they’re praying. This was one of those happy painting accidents. Quickly, I added a soft light above her — this fig of beauty.

Lovely poem and colours blended. Fran
The colors are wonderful in this painting, Genece. I love the praying figure, and I love the poem, too.
stunnng, what a wonderful painting, well done.
This is the perfect fig. The colours are gorgeous, as is the shape. And the words…beautiful.

This is real “soul food”!
Figs are wonderful. Especially when stuffed with cheese! Or when painted beautifully, as done here.
I can see an organza gown as well Genece. Very beautiful work.
