sitting in stillness
two old herons gaze at the moon
mirrored in her eyes

During my childhood, I was a pistol. With an active imagination, an alert curiosity and non-stop mischievous playfulness (hmmmm, things haven’t changed much over my lifetime), my family didn’t always know what to do with me. Primarily, I was shy out in the world and a zany wild child around family and people I knew [...]
Whimsical Universe

Under a spell of whimsy and space
lies the depth of beauty and grace
that brushes the sky in hues of bliss
and touches land with a tender kiss
Ever so luminous dances color on white
shaping and moving into swirls of light
that opens the heart for fancy and play
and deepens the soul in a passionate way
Imagine a sweetness where [...]
Eternal Dream

the warm summer heat
caresses the silkiness
of purple flowers
caught dancing for hours,
stretching their lacy tendrils
opened up in grace
the eternal face
within a dream of laughter
enticed into play
Silent Chatter

Sounds of silence never end
Bare trees dancing without wind
Star twinkling in the night
Souls prepare for wintry flight
And all the world’s words in song
Like silent chatter they belong
The absence of intended sound
A song for winter’s trodden ground
And quiet hearts in stillness sit
Listening for their momentous split
The lack of faith then believes
The rough edge of stillness grieves
For sounds [...]
Lined in Red

Silence.
You are no more,
the whole is…
the stillness
that penetrates you…
it never dies
Rest.
Plumb the depths of inner solitude
where it meets the universe
nothing to do, nowhere to go.
Seek out
those who resonate tranquility.
Or,
enjoy your aloneness.
Come home to yourself,
to the grace unfolding
as prayer
touched by blue skies
and lined in juicy red
freed by simplicity
Autumn Weave

foliage turns color
along a bumbling creek
framed by gold aspens
rugged brown earth tones
fully savor the season
of an autumn weave
One Day at a Time

Today is just today,
this minute, this second
Today is not ruled by yesterday
Only flavored by it
Tomorrow is a blank slate
Without chalk that crosses time
We cannot write on it
We can have hopes and dreams
But tomorrow will come with,
Its own agenda
Today we work and hope tomorrow comes
Without the pain of past, distant memories
In it’s own right,
today,
this minute,
this second
Is [...]
