You are
my one
distinct and
silent voice
resting deep
in stillness
singled out
by the dream
The water lily screamed out at me, ”Single me out in the dream”. So, I did! I brushed bright blue paint until it screamed, “Stop! Enough already!” So, I did! Then, everything got quiet until the lily pads yelled, “Hey, not fair! Give us color!” So, I did! [...]

Will you play with me?
Dance light on the sands of time
with golden laughter and curious eyes
take us on a journey of fun.
Permit the sunshine to be our guide
through the fields of grand passion
Will you play with me?
Honor the freedom to express
all that you feel and think.
Yield to the fruits of a loving heart
with humor touching [...]

Queen of Stillness sweetly brushes her lips
across the colored rim of suspended time.
Softly, she traces the edge of sensation
and opens the portal of the great Lemuria
that was sealed by a moment’s rapture
with no memory of our floating world
between the dream that reflects the sun
and an infinite force of primal wisdom.

Recently, my mother was placed in a nursing home. She’s adapting as well as can be expected. However, the dementia is increasing and robbing more of her moment by moment memories. The poem below is dedicated to her and to people suffering from memory loss of any kind:
her lost memories
dream of a dreamy morning
sweet like the [...]

feeling pink in the vineyard
high on the hill of dreams
the heart leaped in and out
rose-stained glassy skies
flattened everything to silhouettes
lightly swept from row to row
across the softened mind
went and came, quiet, quiet
winds funneled through
enveloped intimate domains
colored fields opened in the middle
to an earthly paradise of matter
lost in creative solitude
walked the labyrinth of sleep
circled in towards the [...]

Pared down to its barest essence, wabi-sabi is the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection and profundity in nature, of accepting the natural cycle of growth, decay, and death. It’s simple, slow, and uncluttered-and it reveres authenticity above all.
Wabi Sabi
transcendental truths
lost in the passage of time
return to wabi
that is…
irreversible
colors that cannot be named
while falling [...]

Colored Words
Words.
Colored outside of the lines.
Jumbo bright with
all the colors of the rainbow
one could desire.
Images.
Colored words
undeniably influenced by
translation of alphabetic letters
into graphic pictures.
Paper.
Intense compulsions to write.
The only thing listening
that starts from nothing,
then shapes into something.
Meaning.
Various textures and hues
colored thoughts of true blue.
Methodically formed to prompt
others to think as they read.
Engaging.
Woos the reader
like a brilliant orator.
Colorful [...]

This is the final step of the sea at sunset. Yesterday, I added layers of color and blended them to create clouds over the two basic colors I started with in step one. Today, I complete the painting by creating a seaside of pinks, purples, deep blues and white. For details, I added boulders, a [...]

In yesterday’s image, I started with two basic colors on the digital painting of a sea sunset. Today, I’ve added colorful clouds by layering yellow golds, deep purple, oranges and white. Literally, using the watercolor brush tool in Adobe Photoshop, I smear color and layer it. Once I layer a group of colors on top [...]
